THE CLIENT
Raagsutra is an ethnic saree studio based in Surat, Gujarat. They manufacture their own pure handwoven silk sarees, lehengas, suits, gowns, dupattas, and the most exquisite fabrics.
Intending to promote local weavers and the traditional weaving culture, they work with various expert craftsmen and artisans from different regions around India. Every single piece of - garment is a blend of timelessness and elegance with hints of regal grandeur.
They are passionate about experimenting with different combinations of fabrics, weaving techniques, and developing new saree concepts. They “rethink ethnic” by giving their clients new-age colours, and designs without compromising the quality, or the purity of silk.
THE BRIEF
The founders were looking to refresh their current brand image to reflect the new direction for RAAGSUTRA which is modern, minimal and sophisticated.

THE CHALLENGES
Before the rebrand, the brand name was written in a mix of two languages: Hindi and English. The goal was to represent both contemporary and traditional styles. However, we felt that if the brand wishes to grow and be present globally in the future, its brand awareness will likely decrease due to this.
THE APPROACH
The redesigned brand identity mark is detailed and filled with meaning regarding the brand's silk-making process while taking inspiration from Indian heritage.

“At first, I was not very keen on changing my logo because I thought it might have an adverse effect on the audience. Then I met Shivani and conveyed to her my worries. She kept everything in mind while designing my new logo. When I saw the new design, I was so glad I chose Shivani to do the rebranding. It was exactly how I wanted it to be. Minimal yet impactful.
